End of the road for Shekhar Suman?

The makers of Movers & Shakers are gonna be back with a new show in a new format and with a new face. Bye bye, Shekhar Suman, one of India’s earliest telly celebs!

Although he’s dabbled in many a movie and TV show, M&S is what he will be mainly remembered by. The show shaped him and vice-versa at a time when Indian TV viewers were still unfamiliar with a sit-down chat show. The likes of Ramayana and Mahabharata were more the flavour of the day back then.

Given that he really had no precedents to learn from, it was a good show, Shekhar. But it’s over, and we wish you luck.

But I have my doubts how much of movin’ and shakin’ he’ll be able to do any more, considering advancing age and defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections. (Well, you should’ve had better sense than to pip yourself against big daddy Shatrughan Sinha.)

Maybe it’s time now for Shekhar Suman 2.0.
