Publicity stunt - Is Shahrukh the smartest Khan?

It seems as it was only yesterday that King Khan addressed his loyal subjects here at ‘Bollywoodland’. Today however, the story’s a little different. Today, he’s sitting in some solitary corner in Newark Airport, waiting for the authorities to let him leave and carry on to meet his merry subjects in Chicago.

Yup. Shahrukh Khan has had to pay for the surname that is so revered here at Bollywood. The immigration officials didn’t let him step out of the airport until the Indian Embassy intervened. Poor Shahrukh. I wonder what he did at the airport, waiting for two whole hours till the matter was sorted out. Maybe, just maybe, he spent his time polishing his crown so that something similar wouldn’t happen at the Chicago airport.

Well though the Bollywood fraternity is visibily outraged with this apparent insult to the superstar, I wonder if it’s not another gimmick for Shahrukh’s new movie ‘My Name is Khan’. I mean doesn’t it pose an uncanny similarity with the situation he is in?

SRK, Kudos to you. You really know how to get mileage out of something. Maybe that’s why you’re the King and we, simply your loyal though sometimes discerning subjects!
