Is Asin Thottukmal The Newest Diva or The Newest Dimwit On The Block?

Asin Thottukmal may only be a single movie-old, but this PYT makes no bones about her newfound diva-attitude. Barely did the dust settle after her phenomenal debut Ghajini than did the young lass go about making a mile-long list of ‘frenemies’ that would even give the original bad boy of Bollywood – Salman Khan some serious doubts about his starry tantrums.

For those of you who can’t remember, Ms. Thottukmal famously snubbed Genelia about her not-so-well deserved nomination for a newcomer’s award, which Asin also managed to steal from right under her nose. Not only did Asin make a drama about how ‘unfair’ it was to nominate Genelia 5 years after her debut, she also continued to give her the royal cold shoulder ever since.

But back to where we began, Ms. Thottukmal has developed a new grouse with Salman Khan, going so far as to have her ailing father represent her for the promotions of her up and coming movie London Dreams. Rumor has it that director Vipul Shah now has to discuss and explain everything about his movie twice – for the benefit of the brittle egos of Asin and Salman. Oh dear! I can smell trouble brewing.

Asin, we’re not sure where you’re going with your career, but alienating a superpower like Salman Khan may not be the wisest way to approach your career, no matter how rosy things seem at the moment. Surely you don’t want to end up like Vivek Oberoi or a certain Ms. Patel whose only occupations now are making snarky remarks about plum roles they never will land? Girlfriend, take your time and learn the workings of that Bollywood inner circle. Remember fools rush in where angels fear to tread. You’ve been warned.
