Ekta Kapoor….please spare us the pain of another cheap melodrama!

Ekta Kapoor wants to take the Shiney Ahuja case and make another one of her (never-ending/open-ended) serials out of it. She says she is genuinely concerned about the lives of female househelps in Mumbai. Yeah right.

Noble thought, indeed. But coming from Ekta, it makes me squirm.

I cannot, for the life of me, imagine for once that the serial will be fact-based or anywhere close to reality. How can you expect her to not add double doses of her cheap melodrama, only this time it’s a sensitive subject that she can really screw up royally.

I’m sure, by the end (if ever there is one) of the soap, you wouldn’t be quite sure which side of the debate Ekta is on. (A debate has only two sides, Ekta FYI.)

So, I’d rather that Ekta sticks to her saas-bahu sagas to which we have anyway developed some sort of immunity.
