Vishal Bhardwaj

To a lot of movie fans, Shahid Kapoors character Charlie in the hit movie Kaminey came through as someone who was gay…someone who wanted or had more than a business relationship with his buddy and handsome partner in crime Mikhail. The vibes were very strong. Were these simply two good actors or was there something more that the director wanted to portray?

I can just imagine the conversation Vishal Bhardwaj may have had with Shahid, explaining the character to him …

Vishal: Dude I think Charlie and Mikhail are a couple

Shahid: Like Abhishek and John?

Vishal: No like Abhishek and Aishwarya

Shahid: ????? ‘Scuse me?

Vishal: Nah Forget it!

The question is… did Vishal want to make Charlie and Mikhail a couple? Or did Shahid unconsciously project the unspoken attraction envisioned by Vishal Bhardwaj? Is this why so many people sensed the gay undertones in the the Spiderman scene when both of them roll over each other?

They had even plan to run off together when they make a pile of money. Very, very romantic wouldn’t you say?

Vishal Bhardwaj’s hit number Dhan Te Nan from his latest flick Kaminey is actually a rehash of a ten year old song he had composed and shot for his TV serial Gubbare with Sharman Joshi doing the honors in the groove department.

Sad how it went unnoticed all those years back. While Shahid’s been collecting accolades left, right and centre for his dancing prowess in the hit song, poor Sharman’s too shellshocked to react. The song’s done wonders for Shahid’s career while Sharman, the original protagonist has been a struggling actor for years and has only now started to find his feet in the industry.

Strange are the ways of showbiz- it breaks some, it makes some…

A note for Vishal- Hats off dude, for brazenly serving leftovers to your humble followers..cause you know they’ll lap it up anyway!

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor at last seem to be realizing that we’ve really had too much of them off-screen to see more of them onscreen. So, Saif is being extra cautious now about what movies he will work in with Bebo as his leading lady.

They have already done Omkaara together, and Agent Vinod and Kurbaan are slated to be their next joint appearances.

Omkaara, based on Othello, had a strong storyline, Vishal Bhardwaj’s clever direction, and foot-tapping raunchy music. Also, we were still not subjected to the Saifreena effect then.

But now Saif is justified to be a little wary about acting against Kareena, especially after what happened with Tashan. Also, methinks, now that he has gotten to know Kareena well, he may have realized the fact that her value is limited to being eye-candy. (And that’s saying really too much for Bebo.)

He’ll have to do her bit of the acting, too, and Saif knows that very well. At the same time, if he does not do a movie with her once in a while, his love life is probably done for.

Well, Chote Nawab, we don’t envy you, not one bit.

Saif and Kareena… phew. If someone gave me a penny for everytime I read about them, I’d be a millionaire by now. Yes, Yes, we know Saif that lady luck’s on your side. When someone like Kareena is your arm candy, you can’t wish for more. But… and that’s a big but… when you say that it’s Kareena who’s behind your success, you take it a tad too far.

I remember you being a nothing in Bollywood and then came Farhan with his ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, Aditya with his ‘Salaam Namaste’ and Vishal Bhardwaj with ‘Omkara’ that made you what you are today – a Bollywood Biggie. If I were you, I’d show a little gratitude and send polite ‘Thank You’ notes to the three men behind your success, instead of being a thankless snob and giving credit where it’s certainly not due.

First the recession, then the strike in the multiplexes and now swine flu. It seems that Bollywood just can’t catch a break. Yeah tough luck this year people.

This is definitely tough luck for Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminay’ that released recently. For all he knows, by the time Pune and Mumbai are cleared of the H1N1 scare, more than half of Maharashtra would have already seen the movie on pirated discs. However, dear piggy chops is up against the piracy, tweeting furiously about how people should wait for multiplexes to reopen and not see the pirated versions of the movie.

I sympathize with you Priyanka, I really do. After the spectcular failure of ‘Drona’ (Just the thought of it has made me feel faint. Excuse me a second while I clear my head of the menacing images and the disturbing remembrance of ‘Drona‘), simply ‘Fashion’ and ‘Dostana’ will not do to redeem you. I really truly do hope, for your sake Priyanka, that the country is rid of swine flu once and for all!
