Is it like those who ride together, stick together?!
The Kolkata Knight Riders duo – Shah Rukh Khan and Sourav Ganguly – will make another public show of solidarity when Dada’s ‘Dadagiri’, a popular Bangla quiz show, will go national next year.
I wonder why Shah Rukh is so keen on appearing lovey-dovey with Saurav. He is the owner of the team, isn’t it? So, one would have actually expected the opposite to happen.
Earlier, it was rumoured that Dada would have a major say in the selection of the team coach, and now this! Why all this kow-towing to an aging captain who passed his prime long ago? Very curious. More so since it’s been a long, long time since the KKR team tasted victory. These boys must be starting a new business trend to network and leverage on the basis of failure huh?
Strange are the ways of these celebs. So, let the scratching begin!

Hrishita Bhatt goes missing? Thank heavens for small mercies!

Either director Devang Dholkia and producer Sunil Pathare are being royally stood up, or something’s really wrong with Hrishitaa Bhatt. In any case, apparently no one’s heard of or seen the woman in the last few days!
I can’t believe it. Kudos to her! I mean, how could the girl be so insightful? When people like Amitabh Bachchan are still about with their walking sticks and botoxed cheeks, I must say this girl has shown maturity far beyond her years to realize her time’s up and she must make her exit.
I can think of quite a few people who could similarly and helpfully disappear: Sushmitha Sen, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Rakhee Sawant (yes, age is not the only criterion), Saurav Ganguly… Hmm, the list goes on.
What a world it would be where we could start afresh with new faces, real talent and most importantly some brand new ruses for publicity.
I’ll keep hoping, I will.

Wasim Akram has emerged as a strong contender for the Kolkata Knight Riders‘ coach position. Till recently though, John Wright had seemed to be the only obvious choice to take the long-sacked John Buchanan’s place.
I would want Akram to be the coach! I love the man. Watching Akram coach a young generation of Indians would be super. If SRK has any sense left in him, he should choose Akram as well. (Has he not had enough of the Gora coaches?) Also, Akram is likely to be cheaper than the Johns (Buchanan and Wright) so SRK can cut down on the wedding dances and take some time off.
The only problem is that Akram is perhaps (still) a better bowler AND batsman than the aging and balding captain! He might just decide to take things in his own hands! Ganguly should not embarrass himself in the next season. Methinks Akram and Dada should switch places. Akram on the field as coach and Dada in the commentary box.
PS: Have they started recruiting for cheerleaders though? That’s a lot more important than mere coaches and captains!
