IIFA Awards? More Like Lafda Awards!

Bollywood’s been facing a lot of flak on its decision to arrange the IIFA awards in Sri Lanka this year. The human right issue apart, Bollywood does not even seem to be bothered about how the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) has reacted to it. Well, this is certainly cold, even by our standards.
Though the Southern film industry makes up for only a small part in Bollywood, there are eminent people like A.R Rehman, Rajanikanth, Shankar and many others who are upset with this clear apathy of Bollywood, and with good reasons too. Perhaps, Bollywood only gets involved with politics when there is some mileage to be made. Layers after layers of agendas perhaps. Who benefits from relocating the IIFA? Well not many.
The SIFCC has gone as far as to declare that those who perform at the IIFA will be boycotted by the Southern film industry. Ouch! That’s gotta hurt. So most likely, we will not find the has beens of Bollywood get a chance to dazzle the Southern audiences anymore. At least not for the next couple of years, till the resentment on this issue continues to brew. Among those to be boycotted names like Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh, Salman Khan and Hritik Roshan are the most prominent. Funnily enough, Vivek Oberai, who is in the midst of Tamil production, is all set for the IIFA awards. Way to nosedive a career that already never took off.
Well, we just hope that things are good once again between the two factions because in the end, it is we who will suffer the most.

Girlfriend of the Bollywood ‘bad boy’ Sallu or Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif is seen attending marriages without her boyfriend around. This may be the clear indication of the increasing distances between the hottest couple in B-town.
Or may be lucky for every other actor other than Salman, Katrina did not want to make a unlucky appearance with Salman in the marriage of daughter of Bina Kak, Rajasthan Tourism Minister’s daughter Amrita whom Salman treats as his sister. Amrita who sang the song Just Chill in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya tied the knot on 29th May in Jaipur.
The stars attended different ceremonies with Katrina going for the mehendi function along with ladies sangeet and Salman was spotted in the haldi ceremony. Both of them were found very much enjoying the functions. Katrina managed to fly out of the Pink City before Sallu had arrived…What timing…
Katrina was enjoying the functions of the traditional Rajasthani marriage so much that she was flaunting her creative side by signing autographs with mehendi. …perhaps she may be thinking that as a hobby….!!! You know you can never be sure with badde log !!!!

Guess who needs a break from the regular Bollywood stuff? Its the bad boy of Bollywood, Sallu Miyan! It seems that brother Arbaaz’s foray into movie making is taking a toll on Salman. Or maybe its just that he needs to spend some time with himself, figure where his life is heading.
Well, he really has been working a lot. Of course, Arbaaz’s ‘Dabang’ is making life tough for Sallu, with all its stunts. Then, he also has to go to Dubai to launch a fashion label and then it will nearly be time for IIFA. He’s thinking of spending some time in his favourite destination – London. Maybe the break is just what he needs to cool off his head and come back to IIFA with a clear mind. We don’t want Sallu Miyan to lose his cool when he sees Aishwarya with hubby Abhishek at IIFA now, do we?

We just hear that there is a love making scene between Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor in Rajneeti, and that it needed to be toned down in order for the movie to get a UA rating. Now we are alright with the love making and all, and perhaps a little excited about it too, but does Sallu know about it? If he knows it, does he approve? To me it doesn’t seem like it. Sallu has already once made his displeasure about some of Katrina’s co-stars known. We wonder what he has to say about Ranbir. Well Katrina has been doing an awfully lot of movies with him.
Of course, like everybody else, Prakash Jha also says that the love scene was an absolute essential. We however, are smarter than that. Nothing fills in the seats in a movie theater, than a steamy scene. In this case Prakash, we hope you do not cross paths with Sallu soon.

Salman’s strange fixation about working with cheap imitations of his girlfriends

In a previous post, I’d talked about Sallu’s inexplicable Aishwarya fixation, the highlights of which were a Kajra re rip off executed to creep-worthy perfection by a fading Preity Zinta, and a certain Ms. Ullal who could make mega-bucks as an Ash look-alike should she choose to revive her long-forgotten B-town ambitions.
At that time, I’d summed it up to an Ash-reflux or hangover… but lately, it seems like Salman bhai’s uncanny fixation with cheap imitations of his Bollywood Queen-Bee girlfriends is going a tad too far.
According to recent reports by a leading Mumbai rag, Sallu is keen on making a Parisian romantic saga starring a newfound phirang unknown. Hardly surprising, considering his past ‘international venture’ (read: Bollywood dud) named Marigold featured a very confused-looking Ali Larter, and sank without a trace at the box-office.
However, interestingly enough, Sallu’s latest venture comes with a strict set of instructions to an unnamed French casting agency – they have been asked to look for a female lead who looks distinctly Caucasian with subtle hints of desi khoobsoorti. In other, less complicated words, Sallu’s on the lookout for a Katrina Kaif lookalike.
Which brings us to a very pertinent question – Why?
What’s Sallu’s motive behind this seemingly-bizarre need to swap his girlfriends with lesser-known substitutes? Of course, being the diplomat that he is, Sallu’s publicist vehemently insists that the only reason for this Kat-swap is because Salman and Katrina have mutually agreed to not star together.
But given Ms. Kaif’s recent rebellious episodes on national television which had her hugging a nervous Neil Nitin Mukesh much to the surprise of an uncomfortable-looking Salman, is this his macho-dude way of telling Katrina:
“Sorry girlfriend, I know you think you’re too hot and all… but look at what I found! A girl who looks, talks and walks like you, and hopefully will be much more grateful to the family she’s piggy-backing on to, for Bollywood success”?
If memory serves accurately (which I’m sure it does), Sallu also pulled a clone-coup on his hoity girlfriend with his choice of actresses in his forthcoming film titled Veer which features a very Katrina-resembling Zarine Khan. And this, after Sallu bhai rubbishes all reports of a split between his larger-than-life self and Katrina.
Hmmm… I have no clue about which way this star-studded romance is headed, but one thing’s for sure – it’s sure going to be very interesting to watch how it eventually shapes up!

Air Head Asin Could Face The Wrath Of Khans If She Doesn’t Shut Up Soon!

Asin amuses me. No really, she does. In fact, I am sure that a lot of others are equally amused with her. I, of course, am not talking about her uber hamming skills or her plastic ‘oh-I’m-so-adorable-and-nice’ persona. I am talking about her mouth at which she apparently has no control.
After being pounded by the media so hard for her suddenly-acquired attitude, I am surprised that the lady is still going great guns. Frankly, these were characteristics that I would previously only have attributed to Rakhi Sawant. But not anymore. Asin’s coming very close to Rakhi when it comes to drama and I am really not even kidding!
After she managed to get Salman upset with her, she’s now denying self-concocted rumors of her affair with Salman. Uh… Asin, did you just try to imply there that Salman would prefer you over Katrina...? You didn’t? Because it seemed like you just did. If you haven’t got the point yet, here it is again. You’ve irked Salman off and even if you believe that he’s having an affair with you (enough to have to deny to the media!), there’s no reason you should say it out loud.
Of course knowing Asin, she wouldn’t stop just there. She’s elated with her start off in Bollywood.
“I started my innings with Aamir Khan and I continued my good spell with Salman. That is two Khans down, two to go (Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan).”
Watch Out Khans! The arrogance of the statement is enough to raise anybody’s eyebrows. But not mine. I have learnt to expect this from Asin. After all, if no one’s talking about you in Bollywood, you have to take on the task yourself. You start by having an imaginary affair with a screen icon, then leak it to the press and proceed from there to posture yourself arrogantly and pretend that you are a legendary screen goddess in the making and every popular actor will soon be lining up to star with you.
Here’s some advice for you lonely girl Asin, play with your dolls and enjoy yourself but know when to shut up and stop babbling about your fantasies — remember, you’re only pretending in that little make believe world you call your mind!

Do you remember when Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were at loggerheads? I am sure you do, but do you remember them kissing and making up? Well, if that boggles you, welcome to Bollywood, where even the smallest of stars can put the vilest of politicians to shame with their frequent change of useful alliances.
Just days ago, Shah Rukh Khan topped Salman’s list of offenders. Then suddenly, it seemed that Salman Khan has decided to take the high road by completely ignoring the other Khans. Then again you see him celebrating Eid with Amir. All this was still tolerable. But now Sallu miyan has gone too far with his ‘I-am-cool-with-SRK‘ stand that he has assumed lately.
We know that he’s going crazy celebrating the success of his recent box office hit Wanted but what’s with this complete 360 degree turn on his relationship with Shah Rukh? Where once the two of them couldn’t remain in the same room for long, today Salman has gone and said that Shah Rukh is indeed the best in Bollywood and, “the intensity in his eyes is really romantic and could make anybody go crazy.” Ahem…Ahem…I won’t even go there on this one! Katrina are you reading this?
Methinks that ol’ Sallu’s hair-weaved head is still dizzy from his success and vigorous dance routines in Wanted. No you say? What else could account for his changing alliances, erratic behaviour and most worrying of all, that disturbing infatuation with leather-faced Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘romantic eyes’?

Hot headed Salman Khan seems to be turning over a new leaf. One is so accustomed to hearing about how Salman lost his temper and verbally or physically abused costars, friends and girlfriends. So one is always a little taken aback when word comes in about Sallu doing a good deed.
Salman has recently been on a roll. He’s been trying to show his good side a little too often. Like recently when he praised Shah Rukh Khan in front of the whole wide world. Now, apparently, he’s offered his services to long time friend and co-star Kareena. What’s he doing for her? Carrying her shopping bags of course!
Sallu while it was nice of you to carry Kareena’s bags and compliment SRK on his romantic eyes, you are going to have to do a lot more than that to repair your image in the eyes of the public. Your laundry list of offences against Bollywood intimates and colleagues is a long, long one and your abrasive attitude and behaviour have left a bitter taste in many mouths.
May we suggest some sincere public apologies (without a money-making or movie-promotion agenda), more good work with the sick and socially dispossessed (again without a money-making or movie-promotion agenda) and a genuine effort to be a more considerate and sensitive human being who understands that mere money and tinsel-town fame do not make a real man. Over to you Sallu!

Poor Asin, she’s feeling a little blue because of her best friend’s departure to the US. Such a sad story and I would cry for her too if it weren’t for the fact that Asin’s has herself got into this misery.
If it weren’t for her tantrums, maybe she would have been well liked in the Bollywood circles and would have not wasted anytime replacing her now-departed best friend with a new one from Tinsel Town. But no, not Ms. Thottukmal. She would rather bitch around about other co-stars.
Her attitude has already got her on the wrong side of Genelia D’souza, a rising star who’s shining pretty bright, if I might add. After she closed that door for herself, she also went ahead and offended Salman Khan! Not a smart movie honey. Now not only will the upcoming stars keep you at bay, even the established ones won’t look your way anymore.
When you act with such arrogance and insensitivity Asin, no one will want to be around you and you will end up disliked and utterly alone. Maybe you might want to rethink your stupid attitude and learn to be more accommodating to others.

Salman’s Success Stuns His Critics! Hate Him or Love Him….He’s A Superstar

You have to give it to Salman Khan. His movie Wanted is running so successfully that his critics have now turned tail.
Sallu Bhai’s mass appeal is of a kind that, I am sure, is envied by the other two Khans: Aamir and Shah Rukh. He has proved beyond doubt that he is very much in business. And, at a time when such confirmation was very necessary. It was up against Dil Bole Hadippa at the halls, which has Shahid Kapoor still gloating over his Kaminey success and a very sexed up Rani Mukherjee.
This should send a message to Shahid who’s busy confusing himself to be Shah Rukh Khan already. And poor Rani, all that skin show came to naught. She had almost starved herself for over a year to wriggle into a bikini. We can’t even say better luck next time to you, Rani, and you know why.
Anyway, getting back to Salman dear, his all-out publicity efforts for Wanted paid off. And he celebrated in style, too, with each fly in Bollywood invited except for the people he loves to hate, namely SRK, the Bachchans, and Vivek Oberoi.
But he should do something about his ever-growing hate list. When Aamir and Shah Rukh have buried the hatchet and will soon work together in Danny Boyle’s next film, don’t you think Salman that you too could profit significantly by a similar collaboration? So how about forgiving and forgetting and moving on like a big-minded, successful superstar is expected to do?
