Abhishek Bachchan

salman_khan_3Guess who needs a break from the regular Bollywood stuff? Its the bad boy of Bollywood, Sallu Miyan! It seems that brother Arbaaz’s foray into movie making is taking a toll on Salman. Or maybe its just that he needs to spend some time with himself, figure where his life is heading.

Well, he really has been working a lot. Of course, Arbaaz’s ‘Dabang’ is  making life tough for Sallu, with all its stunts. Then, he also has to go to Dubai to launch a fashion label and then it will nearly be time for IIFA. He’s thinking of spending some time in his favourite destination – London. Maybe the break is just what he needs to cool off his head and come back to IIFA with a clear mind. We don’t want Sallu Miyan to lose his cool when he sees Aishwarya with hubby Abhishek at IIFA now, do we?

Vivek Oberoi’s career headed south a long time ago, and now he is heading in the same direction too. He will appear next in a Kannada movie Sihi Muthu (meaning ‘Sweet Kiss’) directed by Ashok Kashyap. And guess what? Vivek’s Kannada debut will be as an item boy with a (hopefully) sizzling number that will cost Mr Kashyap a cool Rs 40 lakh.

We wish Mr Kashyap well, especially, after we learned that Vivek was not his first choice, either. He tried to rope in Bollywood majors such as Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, etc., but as that didn’t work, he had to settle for the only-too-eager Vivek.

Vivek better take this seriously and not disappoint Sandalwood. Who knows, he might soon be a much-sought after hottie down South, cashing in on the glamour trickle-down effect. There’s little left for him in Bollywood anyway. Seems as if his best days are behind him now.

Be it fast-fading Bollywood stars or one- or two-hit wonders, every one’s taking to TV, and how!

The latest in line for TV bounty is set to be Abhishek Bachchan, and about time, wouldn’t you say? We don’t see any of his big releases on the horizon in the near future. Way to go Abhi! I always say if you are fast fading on the big screen, make a mad dash for the little one and cash in on old memories before fickle fans forget you.

Anyways, rumour has it that he’ll probably be launching a game show on the lines of the American show Bingo. Only, with papa’s grand entry as a ‘pop psychologist’ in Big Boss 3, Abhishek may have to struggle his way through the TRPs. No free lunches here Abhi.

But Baby B’s one up over Big B with his appearance on Oprah, thanks to the kindness of wifey Ash. One way or the other, you can’t beat Abhishek at being and staying lucky. Let’s see if the stars are still in his favour.

Ram Gopal Verma was recently reported to have said that Karan Johar’s movies are quite realistic.

Yes, you heard me right. That was RGV talking about KJo’s movies.

No, he’s fine, thank you. (We act this way sometimes on the eve of a movie release. You have to do and say outrageous things, even hang corpses, when there’s a Friday glaring at you.)

And, apparently, RGV’s change of heart about KJo’s films happened after he attended Abhi and Aish’s wedding. He says,

“For a long time I detested Karan’s larger-than-life, feel-good, glossy movies. I found them too ostentatious, coming as I did from a lower middle-class background. I found all the razzmatazz and the shoo-shaa all very unrealistic. But I was forced to change my viewpoint after I attended the Abhishek-Aishwarya shaadi. I saw exactly the same grand visual and a larger-than-life event at their wedding, that’s when I realised that Karan is far closer to reality than I am (at least in portraying the upper-middle class society).”

Hmm, I’d love to believe RGV, but it’s hard to take his words at face value. Was he still being his snide self in implying that KJo’s movies are meant only for a niche audience? (Oh God, writing about celebs makes you such a non-believer?!)

*Wink* KJo, you better return the love and have nice things to say about Agyaat. *Wink*

My sources tell me that Aishwarya, Abhishek, and Saif were the original choices for Dostana, but Saif backed out because he didn’t want to be overshadowed by the big Bs. Understandable, Chote Nawab. He’s also said that gay roles are cool with him and he would kiss a man, (even Shah Rukh Khan?), if he had to. That’s kinda cool, eh, Bebo? Maybe you could check out Priyanka when Saif is thus occupied?

Which brings me to the question… when will Bollywood have a lesbian version of Dostana? My guess is, we’re still too tame for that. Whadya say?

Initially it was health problems that affected Ash’s and Abhishek’s shooting schedule. First it was ace director Mani Ratnam’s bad health that caused a shooting schedule for Raavan to be pushed back and then it was director Abhinav Deo’s wife who was taken ill later, causing the rescheduling of the  film Crooked (soon to be renamed before release).

As if all this is not enough, while shooting for the multi-million budget film Raavan, Ash and Abhishek were checking out on the elephant which was to make a guest appearance in the film, which unfortunately turned into a villain running berserk, killing even its mahout.

It nearly went on a stampede and the Bachchans and Mani Ratnam were in a hide out, until people came to their rescue which was after ten long hours in the jungle. Now, it proves one thing- the cock and bull stories of the bollywood hero shooing away even a berserk elephant just with one fiery sight can now be proved utter nonsense.

Well, haathi bhaiyya, is that what you wanted to convey?? Anyways, lets pray the lovely duo get some respite from their jinxed past and get back to work as soon as possible…no more adventures please!!!!

Talk of quality time, boy. Aish and Abhi sure got some recently when they were checking out an elephant with Mani Ratnam. The jumbo it seems went berserk and all three had to hide in the jungle until help arrived.

I’m just wondering who exactly made the elephant mad… Aish? Abhi? Or, God forbid, Mani Ratnam?

I’d also give my left arm to know how Abhishek reacted then. Did the macho man ask the jumbo to f**k off or was he in search of the tallest tree in the vicinity? Who was braver? Abhi or Mani Ratnam? Aish, perhaps?
