Ajay Devgan and Asin – Rock Stars or Spoofsters?

Remember Ajay Devgan? He of the haggard, aging look and rapidly thinning hair, last seen in the eminently forgettable Golmaal Returns? Now imagine the very same Devgan playing a rock star in his latest flick London Dreams. Highly unimaginable and unconvincing, but true nevertheless. Aargh!

Ajay’s character in London Dreams is supposedly modeled after Bono of U2. Yes people, you read the line correctly. Bono of U2! Now before you start falling down with laughter just stay with me to the end. With his sagging cheeks and sunken eyes, Ajay is looking more like a spoofster in one of those crazy spoofs that appear on MTV rather than a rock star with the stature of handsome Bono.

Come to think of it, even Asin is looking like she has yet to “log in” to her role in the recently released promos of the film. I know that Asin hasn’t been logging in to a lot of things these days, but in those promos she looks totally logged out out with a guitar and that perpetually vacuous expression on her face. Doesn’t the girl have any other expression in her repertoire? She’s an actress for God’s sake!

There’s just one word to describe the duo in the film and it’s definitely- ewwww!
